The museum is located inside the tourist center in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. It is a museum that host many illustrative panes depicting the ancient history of a district – the Terre della Baronia district – rich of environmental, cultural, historical, artistical, and anthropological values. This is the district that, among all, as preserved is original form, both in the architecture of its town and in the rural landscapes and in their relationship with the people who live here. It’s thanks to the Park authority and its activities that the territory of Baroni di Carapelle has found new life, regaining its memory and the values that characterized its history and culture. This is why Santo Stefano di Sessanio has been dubbed the “Rebirth Hamlet”. The museum is therefore a meeting point, a way to know and promote a land that blends the values of modern times with those of the tradition, creating a continuum that aims to valorize the history of the one of the park’s most emblematic districts.
