The town of Caporciano is located on a cliff that overlooks a variegated plateau. It is part of the mountain community of Campo Imperatore-Piana di Navelli. The history of the town is tightly connected to the Bominaco Abbey and the castle that, starting from the 11th century, overlooked the entire valley.
The town is formed by two nuclei that reflect the urban characteristics of the ancient medieval town and, along with the district of Bominaco that presents the ruin of an ancient castle and of some sacred buildings, is visited by many tourists every year.
Santa Maria Assunta, San Pellegrino and the Church of San Benedetto Abate are the most charming places of the town, as well as the country roads and the woods that allows you to take long and healthy strolls.
